The First program, which is known for their robot games, had a group of Girl Scouts create a prosthetic hand that can help a toddler write. This device won the inaugural X Prize Global Innovation Award.
Flying Monkeys, a group of kids between the ages of 11-13, built BOB-1, the robotic hand, inspired by one of their member's limb deficiency.

They based theirs on a plastic platform that is attached to the user's arm. A perpendicular piece is also attached to it to grip the writing and other utensils.
